YSS is seeking dedicated and compassionate FULLY REMOTE - Mental Health Therapists to join our dynamic team, serving youth across Iowa. We serve multiple communities across Central Iowa including Ames, Boone, Des Moines, Mason City, and Webster City.As a Remote Mental Health Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting youth on their journey towards mental and emotional well-being. You will conduct assessments, recommend services, and provide a safe and welcoming space for youth and families to express their thoughts and feelings. Your work will help reduce the impact of abuse or neglect, prevent family violence, help clients overcome behavioral and/or substance use challenges, and keep kids from entering foster care or the Juvenile Justice System. Provided laptop and cell phone.Full-Time Benefits:Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, supplemental accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance, clinical supervision toward full licensure/certification, and liability coverage.Four weeks accrued PTO, plus paid time off for holidays, your birthday, and volunteering.All Team Benefits: Employee Assistance Program, recognition programs, retirement offerings, training opportunities, wellness programs, PSLF Program qualification, and pet insurance discounts.For more about how we support our Therapists, please visit https://www.yss.org/therapists/.While this is a fully-remote position, individuals must reside within the state of Iowa.MUST HAVES - Required QualificationsCompleted or in-progress Masters degree in social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or psychology.Current license (LISW, LMFT, LMHC, LMSW) to practice in the State of Iowa, or a temporary license with the intent to seek independent licensure.One (1) year of experience in individual, group, and family therapy.Two (2) years required for independently licensed therapists.Formal training in the field of behavioral health.General understanding of the issues facing at-risk youth and their families.Excellent observational, listening, verbal, and writing skills and fluency in English.SHOULD HAVES - Preferred QualificationsKnowledge and training in the identification and treatment of behavioral health disorders .Two (2) years of experience working with children and families.Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance.Proficient with the majority of Microsoft Office applications and basic database use.History of working with youth and families.The IDEAL Candidate:Has a positive, team-based approach to treatment and working with clients.Is compassionate, patient, and empathetic, with the ability to relate to diverse populations.Can engage youth and establish rapport in creative ways.Speaks a language(s) in addition to English.About YSS...One of Iowa's oldest and largest, youth-serving, nonprofit organizations, YSS's mission is to create hope and opportunity by putting kids first.
